Timeline

Outline of our Timeline:

Getting Ready:

Session 1: Getting Ready:

  • Visit other  homepages and consider their strengths and weaknesses.
  • Create a "story-board" or page-plan for your website

Session 2: Creating a "template" page:

  • Your first task is to use your web editing software to create a "template" page whose layout you like.  This should have the layout and colors your plan to use throughout your site.
  • Create additional pages by copying this "template" page.
  • Add links between your pages and to other related sites.
  • Remember that "Content is King"-- The information conveyed on your webpages is the most important thing!!
  • Scan photos and/or logos to add to pages.
  • Continue entering information and adding images.

Session 3: Finalize:

  • Receive feedback on web pages from others.
  • Respond to feedback  by possibly editing pages or creating additional pages.
  • Proof and spell check pages.
  • Open the site with different browsers to make sure all images and links are there.

Session 4: Uploading:

  • Choose whether or not to create a new domain name for the site.
  • Choose web host.
  • Upload the site to the web host.
  • Check the posted site with  different browsers.

Session 5: Polishing:

  • Put any finishing touches on your posted website.
  • Share the website with others.
