Web Page Design: From Planning to Posting
Timeline
Outline of our Timeline:
Getting
Ready:
Session 1: Getting
Ready:
- Visit
other homepages and consider their strengths and
weaknesses.
- Create
a "story-board" or page-plan for your website
Session 2: Creating
a "template" page:
- Your
first task is to
use your web editing software to create a "template" page whose layout
you like. This should have the layout and colors your plan to
use
throughout your site.
- Create additional pages by copying
this "template" page.
- Add
links between your pages and to other related sites.
- Remember
that "Content
is King"-- The information conveyed on your webpages is the most
important thing!!
- Scan
photos and/or logos to add to pages.
- Continue
entering information and adding images.
Session 3: Finalize:
- Receive feedback on web pages from
others.
- Respond
to feedback by possibly editing pages or creating additional
pages.
- Proof
and spell check pages.
- Open
the site with different browsers to make sure all images and links are
there.
Session 4: Uploading:
- Choose
whether or not to create a new domain name for the site.
- Choose
web host.
- Upload
the site to the web host.
- Check the posted site with different
browsers.
Session 5: Polishing:
- Put
any finishing touches on your posted website.
- Share
the website with others.
